Celebrated in Alberta since 1972, Environment Week is happening across Canada starting on Sunday, and you don't want to miss out on all the great, green events!
One of the first events is Sunday, June 4 at 7:30pm where OWC Executive Director, Shannon Frank, will be speaking at the 'Water in a Dry Land' Exhibit Grand Opening & The Curator Presents event. Check out this brand new exhibit featuring the source of our water - the Oldman River watershed! See the Galt Museum website for more details.
Throughout the week there are opportunities to learn how to get started with installing solar panels, how to plant a bee friendly garden, tour local environmentally friendly gardens, and so much more!
For the kids there is Nature Play Day and Coulee Clean up! OWC will be at Nature Play Day with fun activities for kids to explore the wonders of the watershed. Come and say hello and we'll give you a temporary tattoo and sticker!
This month's Green Drinks will have green trivia in addition to great company and delicious beverages! Come and see what all the buzz is about and you'll see why this event happens the first Tuesday of every month.
In total there are 16 events, so there's sure to be something for everyone! See environmentlethbridge.ca/environmentweek/ for all the details (and links to register where required).
A big thanks to Environment Lethbridge, Helen Schuler Nature Centre, Lethbridge Public Library, BikeBridge, and Lethbridge Sustainable Living Association for organizing this fantastic lineup of events!
