It has now been 3 months since the beginning of the Southern Alberta Water Charter. We have had 42 signatories join this cause and have hosted two signing events (Lethbridge City Hall, April 7th & the OWC AGM, June 15th). As we continue to see progress in our communities and these groups begin taking action, we'd like to now present you with another signatory who is eager to take action in their own way; The University of Lethbridge!
Their specific commitment as part of the Southern Alberta Water Charter is a new research study by Dr. Joe Rasmussen of the U of L's Water Institute for Sustainable Environments (WISE) that has developed a drone-based approach to characterize stream water temperatures relative to the requirements of trout.
We got together with the University’s Vice-President (Research), Dr. Erasmus Okine, who spoke more about this special project. Be sure to check it out and see what it's all about!
